milk and honey

Rupi Kaur ★★★★★

#1 New York Times bestseller

milk and honey by Rupi Kaur is an emotional and beautiful poem collection. The insightful and thought-provoking poems explore themes of self-love, abuse, feminism, and healing.

Are you a fan of poetry?

For the longest of time, I found poetry dull, too complicated and abstract, and way out of my league (shame on me, I know). It's not uncommon to feel anxious or nervous about poetry. However, Rupi Kaur's poetry is reader-friendly and I can assure you, poetry won't be the same after reading Kaur. In fact, you may find yourself even LOVING poetry. Even if you already love poetry, Kaur's poems will give a new dimension and amazing read.

Kaur writes about themes that are close to my, and many other young adults', heart. She's honest, brutal, and raw about the sexualisation of women, act of loving, complications of relationships, and empowerment of womanhood. Her poems express the message needed to be heard and the words needed to be said.

I recommend this poem collection to everyone, especially those who think they dislike poetry.

if you are not enough for yourself you will never be enough for someone else
